Today I want to focus on something that is important when looking for the right photographer. We all want to look and feel our best whether it is during an engagement shoot, a lifestyle shoot, or wedding. You want to feel comfortable and trust that your photographer can understand your vision. Here are some tips that I have to help find the photographer you want to capture your story.

The first thing to look for when choosing your photographer is style! I love when a photo gives me chills, or makes me have an emotional response. I resonate with this because I try to emulate this in my own way through my work. Some people are drawn towards the light and airy, while others love the timeless and classic look. Whatever your style, make sure you look thoroughly through your photographer’s website and portfolio to find your match!

After looking at the photographer’s work, search for their personality. Read their “about me” and get a feel for who they are. Usually their personality shines throughout their website. If you feel that you ADORE this photographer and their work, wooooo! You may have found the one! Some photographers may not have a big following, thats okay! Do not let this discourage you. They could be a bit newer but still amazing at what they do!

lastly check out their mission statement. How do they plan on serving you? For me, it is all about emotions and documenting a person’s life. I let my clients do their own thing while still guiding them and making them feel comfortable. On wedding days, I don’t stress my clients out with family formals because I document the family in an authentic way during the day. Once you find your photographer, contact them! If you still love them after talking, congratulations! You have successfully found your photographer and can breath a big sigh of relief.
